An old picture I recently discovered on my hard drive, Hong Kong, Winter of ‘15.

Amongst my favourite photos from my trip to Costa Rica, the girl in the pink pullover happened to run into the shot just as I was about to take it. Turned out to be for the better.

I recently went on a trip to San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica, where we had the opportunity to build a house for a family in a poor neighbourhood. Throughout the week, many children would come out to play with us. This boy readily and enthusiastically agreed to pose for a photo.

To me, long-exposure photography is beautiful for many reasons, but this picture highlights one of those in particular.

Anything is possible at night, including, but in no way limited to, bending light.

Turns out, perching your camera atop a safety railing and praying it doesn’t fall works just as well as using a tripod.

Contrast plays a critical role in our perception of things. Something cannot exist without it’s contradiction. We are, for instance, only able to perceive movement because we are able to perceive a lack of of it.
